Local Favorites

Every week I'm going to do a post about local favorites including restaurants, coffee houses, bars, and recreational hot spots!

This week my local favorite is Country Catering & Deli Co. which is located on Wilson and 9th street. This past year they won best catering service and best deli from Gusto Magazine and truly offer excellent customer service. Country Catering & Deli Co. relocated to Bend in 1992 and is a locally owned business. Today I had the Santa Barbara sandwich; a vegetarian sandwich made with salsa, avocado and cream cheese on wheat bread with a side of potato salad and couldn't have been more pleased! The Beginning..

Well to get things started I am an original bendite, born and raised in the lovely and very versatile Bend Oregon. I've created this to be able to blog about events and community activities going on around our little town that don't get the hype they deserve. For those of you that haven't heard a lot about my town Bend is known for its 4 very distinct seasons, harsh winter and hot summer. Surrounded by the high desert to the east and the cascade mountain range to the west, Bend is a very secluded place located smack dab in the middle of Oregon. We have the lovely Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort which is located less than 30 miles from downtown and the beautiful Deschutes River flowing through our Old Mill District. Strong community ties and friendly people are what makes this town so wonderful and such a great place to visit. I'll be posting a list of upcoming events soon and also some local favorites! So keep your eyes open!
